In Your Wounds

In your wounds, I shall leave
The best of my dreams,
All my hopes and good intentions
Shall be right there beside them.
When you cry – as you shall,
All alone in the night,
Clutching the cold pillow
In the middle of the bed;
Or in an estranged place,
Abandoned in a crowd with unkind eyes;
When life’s mighty claws dig
deep within your soul,
And you stand naked against all your foes,
Misunderstood and betrayed by those
that you loved;
Every tear that falls to the ground,
There a blessed dream shall drop;
Each shall bear a heavenly bloom,
Each more colorful than the last.
Even in the midst of your despair
and solitude,
There shall be no one
more beautiful than you.
